Accommodation to help you feel at home

When you join us at The Manor, you will get the choice of a room in the older part of the house, or the more modern section. All rooms are finished to the same high standards. We encourage residents to bring their own personal items to decorate their room to their tastes.

Throughout the home, there is a fabulous contrast of old and new features. There are comfortable lounges to relax in, a dining room and plenty of space for group activities. But if relaxing in peace and quiet is the order of the day, you will find The Manor the perfect place.

We are lucky to have wonderful grounds. Residents can often be found enjoying tea in the garden when the weather allows.

Activities to enjoy

Our dedicated activities coordinators take a lot of time to plan activities that appeal to all our residents. As well as the usual mix of bingo, quizzes and music, they find ways to incorporate individual’s lives within their activities. A former maintenance man, for example, spends time helping mend things and looking after an area of the home. Helping residents connect with their personal histories can be a great comfort to them. Sensory activities are also an important part of dementia care.

Residents enjoy trips away from the home too. We go to concerts, on canal trips and to museums. The Walking Club enjoys a walk along by the canal, complete with coffee and cake, and feeding the ducks.

We are lucky to have caring community members, as well as family member, who also visit the home for extra activities like concerts, food tasting, reading groups and more. A hairdresser visits the home on a regular basis to keep our residents looking smart and feeling pampered!

Menus to suit all tastes

Residents are involved in planning menus for the coming week during their residents’ meeting. All our food is freshly prepared at the home, giving residents a healthy, balanced diet. But we gladly enjoy the odd treat too!

One of our most popular activities are our football nights. We all sit around the television to enjoy a game and a takeaway!

We have been awarded a top food hygiene rating of 5 by the Food Standards Agency.
